In this new role , player canpurchase a mathematical function and animal field guidefrom a new NPC , Harriet Davenport . From there , they can choose to aid her subject and conserve the wildlife of the Old West . She will award Naturalist XP for players feel , sedate , tagging , and taking a sample from the animal and bringing it back to her . At the same time , musician can take up working with Harriet but choose to simply toss off the animals instead and trade their pelts to Gus MacMillan , another young NPC who can give the player specialty garments and point for their trouble .

As part of the Naturalist role , players will have the chance totrack down fabled animals . These are large , more specialized creatures players can begin catalogue after reaching layer 5 in the part . There are presently 30 Legendary animal to find and tag , most of which players are charge to find on missions from work with Harriet . There will likely be more tot in future updates . The Legendary Mud Runner Buck is a piebald deer . It usually spawns between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. in clear weather during Free Roam . player will typically come up it in the southern area of The Heartlands near Flat Iron Lake east of Flatneck Station .
This buck does have monumental antlers , which it will practice to commit the player if it feels threaten . player will ask to watch out as they track it .
To update the Field Guide , players require to cover , staid , study , take a sample , andtake a photo of the Legendary Animal . There is also a subdivision in the pathfinder that require player to kill one of the creatures and skin it for its skin . The plot currently does not allow player to both take a sample and clamber the same creature , so player wanting to fully complete the scout will need to find two of the Legendary Mud Runner Bucks . It helps if role player get with the sedating and sample to earn XP from Harriet .
player should forefend kill the Legendary Animals they have already sedated , as that tends to upset Harriet , and if the player makes her sore enough , she will not manage with them for a fiddling while , wee it harder to progress in the Naturalist role .
