However , this villain is n’t a run of the mill bad guy , but a grievous being who wants to steal the Helmet of Fate for himself .
Doctor Fateis one of the old superheroes in comics account , as the master of magic first appear inMore Fun Comics#55 by Gardner Fox and Howard Sherman back in 1940 . Kent Nelson first discovered the helmet and two other sorcerous items , the Amulet of Anubis and the Cloak of Destiny , while on an archaeological dig . The helmet granted the wearer extreme sorcerous tycoon from Nabu the Wise and has made the character among the most herculean ( if not the most powerful ) bomber in theJustice League . The helmet has been wear by numerous people over the year , most famously Nelson . Most late , the teenagedKhalid Nassour assumed the function of Doctor Fate .

Superman#23 by Brian Michael Bendis , Kevin Maguire , John Timms , Alex Sinclair , and Dave Sharpe , sees Superman visit the Hall of Justice so he can meet up with Doctor Fate . The couple teleport to the Tower of Fate , where Superman reveals he want to talk with Fate to ensure he was n’t compromised by deception . Fate goes into Doctor mood ( Nassour was previously a pre - med bookman ) and vomit up a spell to assure what ’s under the cowl of the Man of Steel . While Fate does n’t peck up on any demonic beings or paranormal vigour field , he does recite him to get more eternal rest as the two discuss his family issues . However , during the heartfelt conversation , a new scoundrel holler Xanadoth seem and demands the Helmet of Fate .
So , who is this raw villain ? Earlier in the issue , D.E.O broker Veronica Bissette is shown carrying a grave , seemingly alien point . After an explosive incident , Veronica awaken with the item meld to her hand . A voice , calling themselves Xanadoth , the Lord of Chaos , start to take ascendence . After visiting Madame Xanadu , Veronica takes down the full Justice League Dark team with one hired hand - gesture , before revealing Xanadoth to Superman and Doctor Fate while breaking into the Tower of Fate .
Xanadoth is a huge , powerful magical creature . A villain does n’t call themselves the Lord of Chaos because they ’re gentle . But , the fact he claim to be the true possessor of the Helmet of Fate for sure throws a pull into Doctor Fate and Nabu ’s story . Thankfully , Khalid hasSupermanby his side . However , consider Kal - El is susceptible to magic , use up down Xanadoth is pop off to be hard . It ’s going to be enthralling to see what his history to the helmet is and what he plans on doing with it - as of right now , it appears Xanadoth is ready to cause some serious wipeout .
