The write up begins with Superman finding a crashed rocket on Earth . When he investigates , he finds a boy refer Jimmy Kirk , who Superman has an immediate connection to . The valet sent his child into space on a roquette to keep him alive ( much like Superman ’s origin story ) , however , Superboymanaged to steer the meteorite clear of Earth . When Superboy visits the professor , it ’s revealed he ’s cash in one’s chips and that his one wishing is that the superhero accept care of his son if he ever return to Earth . Superman makes Jimmy his legal guardian and discovers that while in place , the child has developed powers much like his own .
However , there ’s one humble snag as Jimmy becomes Superman Junior : Superman is enigmatically losing his world power . in the end , he fall behind every power he has except for his trajectory . Jimmy soon learns the rocket was the cause of Superman ’s powers disappearing and in parliamentary law to make it proper , he aviate with Clark to a glowing meteorite in quad . The meteorite has a rare metal that take over Superman Junior ’s powers and gives them back to Superman . In one of the most abrupt termination in comic book history , Superman says thanks and bequeath Jimmy … so much for being his legal shielder .

Superman Junior give up his might to save Superman ’s and is immediately abandon . high-risk of all , the fictitious character was never hear from again . Superman Junior was an extremely abruptly - survive role who show marvellous promise but straight off was deemed irrelevant bySupermanonce he take on his world power . That ’s one shitty way to say thanks .
