Star Wars’Doctor Aphra is back with an all - raw serial from Marvel Comics . With a new crew at her side and artifacts and fortunes to be sought after , Doctor Aphra # 1promises to be the start of a brand novel chapter for Doctor Chelli Aphra and her coincident aspirations for discovery , survival , and obtaining large amounts of wealth . The first issue alsointroduces a new scoundrel : Ronen Tagge .
Tagge ’s aspirations appear as though they will directly collide with Aphra ’s , especially given the fact they are after the same artefact and have some sort of bad blood line . Furthermore , Tagge ’s need seem like they would definitely contradict those of another Star Wars villain : Grand Admiral Thrawn .

InDoctor Aphra # 1by Alyssa Wong , Marika Cresta , and Detta Yao , a grad pupil from the Shadow University , approaches Aphra asking for her help in locating the legendary fabulous Rings of Vaale , which if veridical , would be extremely worthful and potent ( and it might also be cursed ) .
of course , the Rings of Vaale are right up Aphra ’s skittle alley and line of business of expertise , so she agrees to aid in site then . Aphra and her work party travel with Yao to the Ruins of Kolkur in the Outer Rim , which is where they learn that they ’re not the only single looking for the rings . Ronen Tagge has been sending teams of hoarded wealth Hunter to obtain the rings , but most likely not to keep them on display .
At the end ofDoctor Aphra # 1 , reader are introduced to Ronen Tagge , a spoiled young blue blood . The Tagge home is one of the Empire ’s flush and prominent category in the galaxy . While it ’s currently unknown precisely how at this clock time , it ’s assumed that Ronen is connect in some way to Grand General Cassio Tagge of the Imperial Navy , who was shortly seen inStar Wars : A New Hope . In the last pages of the issue , Ronen is in his penthouse on the luxury planet of Canto Bight , circumvent by expensive and exquisite graphics from around the extragalactic nebula , asking two artist which of their works of art is the superior piece . Terrified , the creators both say that each other ’s is the better piece . irrespective , Ronen disintegrates both pieces into ash , share that the only thing well than owning something precious and priceless is being the last one to touch it , hence the disintegration .
Because of Tagge ’s proclivity to destroy unique and rare artwork and artifact , this will most likely put him odds with Aphra . You ca n’t get paid for an artifact if it gets destroyed by someone else . Not only that , but this desire essentially makes him the opposite of Grand Admiral Thrawn . While Thrawn besides has a deep appreciation for artistic production , he also conduct a large regard for it and the culture it come from . Thrawn would often study and pull in rare pieces from various planets , find unique vulnerabilities and modernize tricksy strategies to apply against whichever people the Empire was presently subject . Thrawn ’s respect for art and culture would never lead to demolish it from existence as Tagge does .
AsStar Wars : Doctor Aphracontinues , it will be interesting to see how Aphra and her gang handle Tagge and his forces … hopefully before he demolish the tintinnabulation , so they can all get pay .
