In the Marvel Universe , thePunisherhas entered a unexampled phase of his career act with the Hand , and in the process , he ’s bring together a legacy that will be familiar to any devotee ofMoon Knight .
In searching for a Modern leader , the Hand needs the in force killer they can notice . Of naturally , Frank Castle comes to take care . As thePunisher , Castle simply does n’t misplace , killing everybody in his path . The Hand challenges Frank at his flat , and when he succeeds in killing an army of ninjas , he ’s offered the chance to become the new ' Fist of the Beast . ' To stop up his raw position , the Hand has resurrected Frank ’s married woman to live by his side , even as it ’s revealed that they were present in his childhood , molding him into the greatest murderer live .

But Frank ’s role as drawing card of the Hand go beyond just an honorary title . If this construct sounds conversant it ’s because it is verysimilar to the Moon Knight stock , with avatar chosen by Khonshu back through history . In fact , it ’s likely that the Fist of the Beast and Moon Knight have met many , many time over the centuries .
It has yet to be seen what Frank Castle makes of this unexampled title , but it ’s a change that ’s potential to be controversial . With Aaron’sAvengersleaning into the ancient origin of fighter like Doctor Strange , Ghost Rider , Iron Fist , Black Panther , and more , Marvel has more than its share of hoagie who are the latest version of an identity going back to time immemorial . While thisidea works for Moon Knight , who has struggled with his role as Khonshu ’s non-Christian priest and whether this affiliation is even heroic , Frank Castle is traditionally propel by a very personal catastrophe . The thunderbolt that he ’s been shaped since his puerility to become the latest Fist seemingly does away with that , and not all fans will be happy .
What pretend the analog to Moon Knight in particular so interesting is that traditionally the lineament have always been similar at their core while being enormously different on the surface . Marc Spector and Frank Castle are both deeply blemished human beings that lash out and express their frustrations by beating criminals up and even obliterate them . However , Moon Knight leans towards a supernatural origin , motivations , and enemy , while the Punisher ’s military setting make him more of a street vigilante . This recent development aligns their journeys far more , so thatPunisherandMoon Knightmight have more in common than either of them - or their sports fan - are comfortable with .
