The Lost City
The Lost Cityinvites audiences on a hilarious tropical adventure with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum , who portray a reclusive novelist and her cover fashion model respectively , as they are drag up in an freakish billionaire ’s lookup for a mythologic at sea city .

Screen Rant : The lose Citywas a lot of fun , I loved your character in it . This is a script that ’s been sort of plain around for quite a while now .
Oscar Nunez : Really ?
Yeah , I believe it ’s been in the whole kit and boodle about 7 years . When did you first get your hands on it , and what about it really sparked your interestingness ?
Oscar Nunez : I did n’t cognise it was sound off around for a while , but that happen in Hollywood ; things kick around for a while . The first I hear of it was from Sandra . Sandra sent me a textand say , " Do you require to be involve in this matter in Dominican Republic ? " I was like , " Yeah , sure . " We read it and it was funny , and the part ’s rummy , and it was like a body of work / vacation because I accept my wife and Kyd to the Caribbean . So we ’re like , " Yeah , we ’re totally in . "
But this intrigue me that it ’s been kick around for like 10 years or something , that ’s interesting . But yeah , that come about . That happens in this township .
One of the thing that I sleep with about this movie is that the clowning feels like it swear on the script as much as it does the performances . How much improvisation were you allowed to do with your fiber and how much of your bodily fluid came from the script ?
Oscar Nunez : The book was odd , but the fellows allow me to improvise here and there . But the theater director had a very strong visual modality for what they need , because there ’s a fate going on .
It ’s a great movie with a luck of moving parts . , because it ’s not just a funniness , it ’s action with the boats and all the chasing , that ’s a grownup deal logistically . They have a plenty on their dental plate , so they have a limited amount of time for the scenes . But within that they permit me play a piddling act , it was fun .
What would you say were some of your favorite moments that you get to improvise in the film ?
Oscar Nunez : When she ’s at the airdrome , and I ’m like , " I see you like steaks . " That part . I ’m happy they went the elbow room they went with the hand , but they countenance me mess up around and come in with different lines for that . I think the first line is like , " I care steaks too , " or something like that , that ’s my in . And one time I ’m like , " Excuse me , I have access to fresh cows . " She ’s like , " What ? " and I ’m like , " I could n’t help overhear that you like steaks . Well , I have access to reinvigorated cow , I ’m just saying . "
Even just to get that out of my organisation was fun , and I ’m like , " You guy rope use it ? " They ’re like , " No , it ’s funny , but we ’re go to go with the script here . " [ Laughs ]
I also love the alchemy between you andDa’Vine Joy Randolphin this film . Both of your characters just play off each other so well . What was that like for you come up with that rapport off camera before bring it into each scene ?
Oscar Nunez : It was a kickshaw . She ’s a sweetheart and a professional . We ’re friend from Toronto . We worked together a farseeing time in Toronto , so we know each other and we just were having fun .
One of the thing that I especially love about your character is at the very destruction , he has that contrast where I believe Sandra scream him an angel and then he suppose , " How did you love ? " Is there a story behind that ? Did you spill with the Nee Brothers at all about what that was for ?
Oscar Nunez : They were just giving me lines to say , she ’s just walking away and I ’m saying anything . Sometimes I would improvise and sometimes the directors would say , " Say this , say this , say this , " and that ’s the one they landed on .
There were all different niggling peculiar , slaphappy thing . But that ’s the one they landed on , which was pretty absurd . [ Chuckles ] Whatever , it ’s surreal , you could take it any way you want . But that ’s the one they land on .
Do you think your type is an Angel Falls ? Because I mean , he does pop up at just the ripe minute throughout the film .
Oscar Nunez : I think he fly a plane , somehow he got a license a long fourth dimension ago - or does he have a license ? And he has n’t been checked by a brain doctor or a doctor in a farseeing time . Sometimes people ’s driver ’s licence should be get hold of off , but they do n’t go in to get checked out , so they keep beat back the car . This guy cable ’s fly a plane . Who ’s going to check on him ? He ’s flying all over the place . We do n’t know his genial country .
He ’s a wildcard , to say the least .
I know you did n’t get many scenes with him , but what was it like alsoworking alongside Daniel Radcliffe , because I love that little interaction you two have on the boat as he ’s assay to escape ?
Oscar Nunez : Yeah , we did n’t get to work [ together too much ] , but we got to utter and hang out . And my daughter encounter him , so that was nerveless . He was around the hotel , so those are the parts that you ’re like , " Hey , this is very coolheaded . " As far as the study , like I said , it ’s a tight - moving machine , lots of move parts and it exit quickly , because these bozo are on a mission to get this adult - budget photographic film in at a sure sentence .
When you ’re working , it ’s quick and then we ’re move on and we leave the time to play for Channing and Sandra , because they ’re carrying the whole thing . So they call for the quad and that sentence , so the small parts have to be concise .
