In author Joe Kelly and penciler Yvel Guichet ’s cryptic comicJLA # 73 , Atlantis has risen from the depths and Zatanna Zatara , a mage who comes from a family of thaumaturgist , becomes trapped in clay by an ancient Atlantian puppet . In an effort to save Zatanna , some of the newly appointed members of the Justice League await for Nightwing , who has been appointed leader of the team , to arrive with Faith and give the order to attack the Atlantian freak . As Nightwing and Faith fly in on a jet , Nightwing inquire her why her ? why does she deserve to be on the team and fighting by his side ? First , she say she has a calming nimbus power , which creates an glory of trustfulness and confidence in those around her and allows the squad to work on easily with one another . Then , the conversation becomes excited as Faith claims Batman is Nightwing ’s Church Father . At first , Nightwing becomes enthusiastic about Batman claiming he ’s his father . But Faith denies him that world when she articulate Batman does n’t overtly claim to be his Father-God , though she sham he is .
As the conversation stay on , Faith tells Nightwing Batman tells her he ’s not proud of his work . But the next arcanum she reveal about Batman is enough to make Nightwing feel perfect lightness . She quotes Batman and says,“The only time I ever feel superbia is when I expect at Nightwing . Sometimes I think he ’s the only thing I ever did right . “After Nightwing learns Batman ’s best - kept secret , he smiles and organized religion reassures him it ’s the truth . Even though Faith does n’t use her calm aura ability to stimulate Nightwing with confidence , she does so with the trueness about Batman and the pride he feels every time he reckon at Nightwing . But it ’s the boost in confidence he needs to unite the other members of the Justice League and save Zatanna .
Now one may ask , why does n’t Batman tell Nightwing how he feel about him himself ? The solution is still unclear , but there ’s a possibility that Batman knew Faith would finally tell Nightwing . Hence , why he tells her in the first place . Being open about one ’s tone is not Batman ’s stiff suit , but it ’s clear he’sproud of his son Dick Graysonand whether he admits it or not , he willalways needNightwing .
