They should ’ve recognized that the two of them would want to revenge Joel ’s death , just as they were doing on behalf of Abby ’s forefather , and in the end , this oversight proved fatal for most of the WLF member .
Abby and her friends – Nora , Owen , Mel , and Manny – were formerly firefly . Abby ’s Church Father , Dr. Anderson , was one of the top scientist working on a cure for the infection . So , not only did Abby fall back a father when Joel killed him at the end of the originalThe Last of Usgame to save Ellie , but the entire group lost hope of make a remedy , which explain why all of them were willing to join Abby on her quest for revenge .
By chance , Abby meetsJoel and Tommyin the woods when she ’s being attacked by infected , and the brother aid her dodging . She presently realise who they actually are and take them back to where her champion are located , only to lie in wait them and kill Joel in the process . Even though Ellie demonstrate up mid - mode through the event , she can do nothing to salvage Joel and is forced to take in Abby as she bludgeons him to death .
Why Did Abby & Her WLF Friends Let Ellie Go?
After Abby finish with Joel , it looks like the radical is ready to flex on Ellie and Tommy . This is n’t surprising , since Ellie and Tommy could easily identify the woman chaser ’ faces and they would likely want to avenge Joel ’s demise . Manny go so far as to deplumate out his gun and take the air over to Ellie , but in the dent of time Owen step up and try out to reason out with him . Mel also steps in to say something . It ’s unclear what the friends are read , as actor can only hear the ringing in Ellie ’s ears . The next thing that happens is someone complain Ellie in the chief , rendering her unconscious . She wake up up in the same spot to Dina shaking her .
It ’s remove the some of theWolves inThe Last of Us : Part 2were willing to belt down Ellie and Tommy , but thanks to the abstract thought of Owen and Mel , they decided to leave alone the two characters unconscious alternatively , give the group enough prison term to get out of there . Not all of them were as unforced to end ( what they trust were ) guiltless lives just in the name of retaliation .
Unfortunately , this proved to be a calamitous move for the WLF members , as Ellie and Tommy end up killing all of themexcept for Abby , including Owen and meaning Mel , who saved their lives . WhileThe Last of Us : Part 2explains why the Wolves let Ellie and Tommy go , in doing so it drives home the point that revenge is cyclical and everlasting unless the rhythm is broken .
