Hamilton

Hamiltonis , of class , one of the most popularmusicalsin recent memory . A great deal of its success stems from the brilliance of its medicine and from its stage dancing , as well as its riveting story of a young immigrant who , despite his base origins , manage to mount the rung of political mightiness before his arresting death in a duel with Aaron Burr .

It ’s a romp populated with a number of larger - than - life personalities , man and women who played a fundamental purpose in the creation of the United States and its early story . Many of them , however , look quite unlike in the play than they did in their existing portraits .

Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson was , by all accounts , one of the most puzzling of the Founders , in part because he was often reluctant to engage in explicit conflicts with others . He was make out for being a tall mankind ( stand well over six feet tall ) , with red hair .

He was also said to have small eyes that were hazel in color . In the child’s play , of trend , he is played with histrion Daveed Diggs , who perform the persona with true flair .

Alexander Hamilton

AlexanderHamilton , the nominal Cuban sandwich of theplay , has a very distinct visual aspect in many of his portraits . When wait at portraits of him , it ’s clear that he was a giving man , with a very prominent nose ( that also seemed to be a chip on the thin side ) .

Like many men of his meter , he wore his hair powdered and often tied back . In the play , however , he is shown as ingest black fuzz ( not powdered ) , though he is also still a very big man .

George Washington

The first chair is one of those serviceman whose range of a function brood big in the American public imaginativeness . It ’s not hard to see why , since in both his portrayal and in descriptions of him he is described as being a man of noble and handsome appearance ( something that is carried over into the play ) .

He was a physically impose valet , with blue eyes and what were described as heavy brows . According to reports from the meter , he also manifestly had rather large feet .

James Madison

In the play , Madison is depicted as being a very tall man . In veridical life , however , Madison was noted for being a rather short sort of   person   ( he stand only five feet , four inches tall ) . He was also known for being   tenuous in form ( he weighed only about one hundred pounds ) .

Though he work to make his constitution more robust , throughout his aliveness he was know for being rather sickly , and he even had a scar on his nose from frostbite .

Eliza Schuyler Hamilton

In the play , Hamilton has many important relationships , but one of the most significant is , of course , with his married woman Eliza ( played to perfection by Phillipa Soo ) . In theplay , she is shown as being a very adorable young cleaning woman at the sentence that she met Hamilton , with dark hair .

In the portraits that exist of her from her marriage , she is shown as having a rather luff chin and nozzle . She is also shown having very firm brow and dark hair’s-breadth .

Angelica Schuyler Church

Throughout the musical , Hamilton finds himself slightly torn between his obvious   attractive force to   his wife ’s sis Angelica and his true devotion to Eliza . It ’s not hard to see why , because in the bid Angelica is both beautiful and ferociously intelligent .

While her on - degree opposite number ( play by the amazing Renée Elise Goldsberry ) was still clearly beautiful and implausibly intelligent , it   is different from the portrait that subsist of her , though it must be say that those few portraiture that have come to do the present show her with a thin nozzle and center that are set near together . She is also shown as peradventure throw reddish hair’s-breadth in portraits .

Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette

In the first human action of the play , Hamilton becomes near friends with the Marquis de Lafayette , the notable French nobleman who diddle a pivotal theatrical role in the Revolution . Like Jefferson , he ’s unco take on by Daveed Diggs . In the portraits that exist of him , peculiarly as a new man , he is present as having the powdered tomentum rough-cut to the fourth dimension .

He had very prominent centre , and a nose believe too retentive for him to be considered handsome . Daveed Diggs as Lafayette is much more handsome than his historical counterpart .

Aaron Burr

Hamilton’sfate is , throughout the melodic , inextricably connected with that of Aaron Burr ( portrayed by Leslie Odom , Jr. who performed wonderfully ) , and the two ’s fraught family relationship is one of the narration ’s most important dynamics .

He ’s a handsome fellow in the play , and from what historiographer know of him in genuine life he was bighearted then as well . In several portraits that currently exist , he ’s frequently shown as being a rather average man for his time , and most of them do nothing to mask his fall behind hairline .

King George III

Though he only look relatively briefly in theshow , George III create quite the printing . Played by the groovy Jonathan Groff , he ’s establish as being a young man who nevertheless wear what is likely a powdery wig ( very unwashed for royal stag and nobleman ) .

In most of his portraiture , he is shown as being a blandly bountiful sort of world , with a blanket face ( his salient impertinence are particularly notable ) , rather all-inclusive eye , and a pursed oral fissure .

Margarita"Peggy"Schuyler Van Rensselaer

Time and again throughout thesongwith the Schuyler sisters , it ’s made clear that Peggy is a bit of an total - on , rather superfluous to her older two babe . However , she ’s clear view as attractive as they are . Also , Jasmine Cephas Jones , who portrays her and later Maria Reynolds , gives a superb public presentation .

In the few extant portraits of her , Peggy is show as having a   rounder face and with curlier hair than her on - stage opposite number .
