Fans of the sign of the shiner have always had a gentle spot for Disney ’s knave ’s gallery of villains , have n’t they ? From the refined iniquity of Maleficent to the side - splitting slapstick of Captain Hook , there are just some villains that make forged attend safe . With that in brain , certain members of the gang might not sit well if introduced to today ’s audiences .

It ’s not that the animated characters do anything gruesome , at least by Disney standards , but some of their method , motives , and personality trait might be more than a small problematic . But since when do these guys run well with others ?

Scar

Scar get an honorable reference on this list simply because lighting ca n’t strike twice , andDisney certainly try on . This wretched royal has been consider by many of the Disney fandom as the studio apartment ’s perfect scoundrel , which is true to a sure extent . He is , after all , one of the only animated villain who does precisely what he says he ’ll do . It ’s just a case of imitated but never duplicate .

Prince John

There ’s nothing inherently wrong with Prince John . On the contrary , he ’s possibly the funniest Disney scoundrel in existence . He ’s fundamentally an overgrown bambino in king ’s clothing , but that ’s not what stay fresh him from evolving for modernistic audiences .

The fact of the matter is that Prince John is rather weak compared to some of his contemporaries . view of power aside , he truly is n’t much of a threat . A modernisation of the character would have to foray away everything that makes him memorable .

The Evil Queen

Snow White ’s malefic stepmother sort of suffer the same error as Prince John , but more along the lines of how canonic she is . As iconic as she is , she ’s still a bit one - dimensional , fairest one of all or not . Though she was modernize in Disney’sOnce Upon a Time , she ’s not the same maniacal crowned head fan sleep together and love .

Cruella De Vil

Cruella De Vil is so outrageous   and so magnificently maniacal , that to attempt to recreate , reenvision , or reimagine her borderline on heresy .

Much like Scar , she was near thoroughgoing in her construct and rescue , but unlike her prowling peer from the Pridelands , her live - action adjustment only perfected on her forerunner . However , if she were to be made as a brand new conception today , more than a few fauna rights activist would be up in arms .   Fur is murder , after all .

Hans

Hanswas the first of Disney ’s many " hidden villain . " With one line , he absolutely shattered the mildew by which Disney villain are form . But at the same time , he also spark a commonplace that seems to have plagued Disney since . It was fun the first fourth dimension , but now finding the villain is more of a guessing game . With Hans came the likes of King Candy , Yokai , and Bellwether , and the trope was born .

The Pink Elephants

Though they are n’t technically villains , they are an antagonistic force that would be problematical today . Not because they do anything illegal , immoral , or unlawful , but because they are the product of a drunken baby elephant ’s hallucination .

This might have been a slightly twisted little sequence in the ' forty , but modern audiences would credibly get up and arms if the sequence was screen out today . At least Burton gave devotee a unique spin on it .

Governor Ratcliffe

Pocahontasisn’t an abominable picture , it ’s just problematic . Altering the narrative of a historic figure is one thing , but there is such a thing as too far , and Disney is more than a little guilty . One of the big problem in that regard has to be Governor Ratcliffe , and not just because his portrayal is historically inaccurate . rent ’s just say there was a reasonableness the song " Savages " was hard altered before the final screening .

Si and Am

As attest with Ratcliffe , the subject of race seems to have been a repeated problem with Disney . Even wholesome films likeLady and the Trampweren’t immune to certain caricatures .

This prove to be especially problematic with one of the moving-picture show ’s most recognized songs . Si and Am are a pair of Siamese Arabian tea who serve as the antagonist for Lady . Though they do n’t do anything insanely obscene , they are presented as a blatant Asian stereotype . Hence their removal from the remake .

Br’er Fox

Although James Baskett ’s vocal talent did bring most of the animise part to life , they simply would not flee today outside ofSplash Mountain . Br’er Fox is just one of many issues with the motion picture , but he might be the most glaring , peculiarly give a sure trap for Br’er Rabbit .   The guy just pull up stakes a bad gustation in the mouth of innovative viewers , even without the repute of the pic . His laundry list of torture idea for Br’er Rabbit was unsettling then , he ’s unsettling now , end of word .

Frollo

Frollo is undoubtedly Disney ’s most naturalistic baddie . He ’s manipulative , driven by power , luxuria , and racial hatred , and he does it all while exact to be a good Christian . The tragic stunner of the matter is thatDisneywould never get away with his performance today . If made today , without a undivided alteration , Frollo ’s presence alone would slap a strong PG-13 onHoND.That being said , it would still make for one interesting character .
