David Arquette speaks out about his clip in squirm in his new documentary film , you could not wipe out David Arquette . The acclaimed actor was much maligned for his brief clip as WCW title-holder before returning to the annulus in 2018 , and the documentary delves unabashedly into that journeying .

In preparation for the August 28 digital release , Arquette himself spoke to Screen Rant about the origins of his WCW championship title as well as the inspiration that drove him to testify himself once more only a year after his heart attack .

I personally think you brought a lot of spotlight to the wrestling business . If you see at the path you blaze , Hugh Jackman came in after you , Stephen Amell and so many others . I preen you for what you did in the wrestling man , and this is a great docudrama to put that all on exhibit . I know that Ready To Rumble was the first footfall of you getting take in wrestling , but what originally inspired you to step into the ring ?

David Arquette : I always loved wrestling since I was a small fry . I went to a couple of couple with my dada , and I decease with my friends and saw Andre the Giant , Hulk Hogan , and more . I catch Andre the Giant in person , and I just could n’t conceive it . I was looking at a giant ; the whole spectacle kind of muff my brain . I loved Macho Man and Roddy Piper - that whole sentence geological period . That ’s when I really flow in love with it .

And then when Ready To Rumble come around , on Thomas Nelson Page five there was Macho Man . I holler my agents and was like , " Are they really locomote to get Macho Man ? " They ’re like , " Yeah , he ’s in . " I order , " This is unbelievable . I ’ll do it . I ’d make love to do this film . " That was one of the great moments on that film , beat to work out with Macho Man . Just verbalise to him and asking , " Where do you subsist ? " It was so wild .

The musical theme was just to go on and promote the picture show ; for me to rise in for a bit , for Jeff Jarrett to mosh me down and then Diamond Dallas Page to follow in . Because they were all exploit an slant , they were supposed to go head word to manoeuver for a few months or something . Then he got a real big papa when I rise in the hoop , and then I took Jeff ’s finisher . And then they enjoin , " Can you come back next calendar week ? " or something . I might have been scheduled to do a couple of them , I think . Maybe the second metre or something , I was like , " Okay , what are we doing ? " and they said like , " They ’re gon na make you the champion . "

Vince Russo had project me walking around with a little miniature backing belt , and I had all these wrestler bless it and stuff and nonsense . Because I was a fan . I ’d been going to WWE matches and sitting ringside seat and just watch over . I originate up going to the show , and I ’d always kind of pop in and pop out . People always thought it was kind of uncanny that I ’d go to wrestling mate , but I met a couple friends that also loved wrestling and that was something that we all bring together over .

And then Jason Hervey had something to do with the whole affair . But then they say , " They ’re going to make you the champion . They think it ’ll bring some attention to the company . " We just had no idea that it would last 20 old age .

I ’m really really happy you made this documentary , because I ’ve been a longtime fan . What inspired or move you to share this story ?

You Cannot Kill David Arquette Documentary

David Arquette : You know , I ’ve fetch the stent in my heart . I had a really bad reaction to a focus trial , and I thought it was dying . I go to get surgery , and I was thinking a wad about my sept , my life and my vocation . And then I was consider about wrestling , and I just had this mile inside me - it did n’t palpate estimable . I ’ve been beat up for so long about it , and it had an gist on me .

Through the process of make this movie , I ’ve learned that I just stick myself up constantly . I would tell myself disconfirming stuff , and I ’d go down this coney hole kind of being my worst foeman , to be honest . And when you study something on the internet , it just kind of confirm it for you . Somebody place you down in a review of a film , and you ’re just like , " I suck . " It just append to it . So , through the cognitive operation of this , I ’ve learned that you take confidence . You need to stand up for yourself ; you need to cognise that you ’re great ; that you ’re a champion . Everyone should bed that . We ’re sometimes our worst foe , and that ’s what I really learned throughout the whole making of it .

I did n’t eff that ’s what was gon na bechance , but I ’d cite to my wife after I had this experience with the stent in my heart that I want to do a documentary about go back to wrestling . I ’d in good order prepare and put in the prison term and take my knocks , so that at least I could change the story . I ’d prove who I am and digest up for myself . And that ’s really all I wanted to do .

The affair I hump about this documentary is that it really seems to capture you at your most vulnerable moments . Was there anything that did n’t quite make the cut ?

David Arquette : Yeah , there ’s a lot of stuff that did n’t make the doc . I had this whole Indy Run with RJ City that ’s just incredibly funny and hilarious . We did n’t have many cameras around for that whole flow , and there ’s demented stuff and nonsense that bechance . I got to wrestle The Honky Tonk Man . It ’s one of my best-loved present moment .

I know that just by make films and being in films that the best performances of the best films , especially of the best documentaries , is when they ’re good and revealing . They ’re vulnerable , and you sort of pour your pith and person into it . So , I did desire to do that .

I did twist schoolhouse for one 24-hour interval , and after the fact I felt like I was in a machine accident .

David Arquette : It ’s so painful , human . The trouble is it ’s passing sore at the beginning , and after you do it for like a month , it becomes a little more tolerable . But then if you take a month off and go back , it ’s almost like starting from ground zero again . So , it ’s a really painful experience .

But I ’m happy that you did that . It ’s unspoilt to at least try out it .

Looking back at your experience , do you consider wrestling any differently than you did 20 years ago ?

David Arquette : Oh , yeah . This experience totally give my psyche to wrestling , and my eyes too . It just generate me to have it away it even deeply . I totally empathise now how much hoi polloi go through , how painful it is , how much it affects their family when having to journey so much . How knockout it is to do a equal , then hop in a car to go to another spot , get a slight sleep , waken up and do it again . It ’s just crazy . Those guys did this for old age .

I literally just scratched the open of it and get a line how sore it was . I also see how many people make love it , and that it ’s generational . They used to go with their father and their family . It has a real place in mass ’s pump , and that ’s where it hold out for me now . I eff twist more than I ever did , and I also have a regard for it . But I also have a lot of concern for it , and I ’m cautious . Whenever you ’re doing any of that , it ’s somewhat tricky . You have to be careful .

I would love to see you in PWG .

David Arquette : That ’s too high storey for me . severely , the layer of PWG is just so effective and so top notch . It ’d be fun to perhaps do a thing , but PWG is a bit of a holy grail for me . If somebody asked me to do PWG , I ’d be like , " No , thank you . "

Have you think about AEW ?

David Arquette : I would n’t heed doing something at AEW . I stand for , just because a lot of my champion are there , and it would just be fun to be back on the road with some of the boys and just do a little thing . But if I did , I ’d want it to be with RJ City , because I really hump when I can tag squad . Our dynamic , it ’s like we ’re Laurel and Hardy in the wrestling band .
