It ’s easy to see whyVenom ’s symbiotewould choose Captain Marvel to every other hoagie it bonded with . Carol Danvers is one of the most - if not the most - powerful superheroes in the Marvel Universe . Gaining that kind of power while still maintaining the vicious force of the symbiote is a deadly compounding . The upgrade from Gargan to Carol is monolithic . hold fast with Carol means the symbiote can do everything Venom can do , but even better . It can manipulate energy , vanish , and who knows what else ? If Spider - Man think fighting a Gargan ( or even Eddie Brock ) powered symbiote was a problem , Captain Marvel is much , much worse .
unluckily for the symbiote , its stint with its new favorite superhero is unawares - dwell . After Spider - Man stupefy the symbiote to dog him around the metropolis , he leads it instantly into a power line , which shocks the symbiote with enough energy allowing Carol to burst free from its grasp . The symbiote immediately retreat to its less host , Gargan . In the end , Spider - Man is lucky that the Venomsymbiote never fully bind with Ms. Marvel - otherwise , he would have faced perhaps the deadliest symbiote boniface yet . Although , it ’s too defective the symbiote never make the opportunity to adhere with his favorite superhero . Alas , Captain Marvelwas never meant to be the next Venom - even though that hero would have been preposterously overpowered .
