It was told and retold clip and again in the comics , with each writer and creative person adding further embellishment . Martha Wayne ’s renowned pearl necklacedidn’t really appear for the first meter until Frank Miller and Klaus Janson’sThe Dark Knight Returns , and the imaging of the scattered pearls was fondly recreated in Christopher Nolan’sBatman Begins , as well as in Zack Snyder’sBatman V Superman : Dawn of Justice . But the comics revisit this in another flashback in this week’sThe Three Jokers#1 , and they seem to be set up a major retcon .

Written by Geoff Johns , with prowess by Jason Fabok , The Three Jokersopens with Batman remembering the distant day that changed his life forever . He recalls the innocent joy of his younger ego as he left theMonarch Theater , delightedly adjudge it the greatest moving picture ever made .
