Screen Rant catch to verbalize to Amanda Seyfried about her role in this film , why was playing an actress interesting to her , and how she gear up for a big prospect with her young co - star Avery Essex .

Good … near . First off fantastic occupation on the film

Amanda Seyfried : Thanks .

You ’re welcome .   So one of the things that I found enthralling when I read up on the devising of the film … you one of the thing that interested you about the persona was that you were work the part of an actress . What exactly about that was so interesting to you ?

Amanda Seyfried : I think when you may hit a fiddling too close-fitting to home it can get kinda … weird . Like a parallel macrocosm . I ’m play somebody spill the beans about the same things that I ’ve talked to my hubby about . Having to call sure … the product office . Even as specific as something like … checking your call sheet . Something we do every day when we ’re working on set . To be playing somebody who ’s going through the same matter is unearthly . Like my factual assistant , my factual supporter act my helper in the motion picture ( Laughs ) it was of class on role . You hump when thing hit close to home , I can see that as a challenge … it ’s fun … kinda DANGEROUS .

You had plenty of picture with Avery Essex who play your girl in the film , but there is one setting in exceptional that I think is a very ambitious and emotional view . It ’s the one with you and Avery in the woods . You two talking on the tree . How did you two prepare for that scene in picky ?

Amanda Seyfried : Well … we did it in fleck and pieces with David , cus we were sitting on a branch … and each … the thing about that story … to tell apart that to a fry … it felt disjointed as I was doing it … we would check and take up . block up and start . Because each … David needed something very specific from me . Avery was just really charter it all in … and then call for some questions . It was my job to change the quality of each result to have some kind of effect for the audience but also to be doing it in a “ responsible for ” way … if that exists for your seven - year - one-time to understand and to not be scared by . So as hard as it was … much hard for a parent to explicate that to their minor … it was still pretty challenging to assay to get the musical note flop . For the function of the story … to make it seem like it was an hunky-dory thing to do .

you should have left

Sure … so my last enquiry . This film is so close and intimate , and I sleep with that it was a very small cast and gang . What ’s the sound thing about working a cast and gang of this size of it ?

Amanda Seyfried : There ’s a focus that is hard to witness and hard to maintain when you ’re on a readiness peculiarly as things keep conk on as you get further and further into the shooting of it . The smaller things are … I think the more generative affair can be sometimes . And it is such a pocket-size story , mostly in one confined space that we power through . Like we had a optical maser beam focus . Which was really overnice . And also … it always feels secure to feel … like a family . Always . You always kind of produce that anyway without try , but this was just a lot easy .

amazing ! Thank you so much it was a joy talking to you .
